Conservation Innovation & Impact measurement

Triman, Fellow, India: Krithi's session highlighted the power of entrepreneurs acting as a bridge. By leveraging existing policies and data, we can amplify the voices of those impacted and ensure these policies truly serve the communities they were designed for.

Trisia, Fellow, India: One of my favorite sessions was with Krithi. It talked about the challenges of fundraising and pitching in modern day conservation to corporations. It also was very inclusive and helped me personally a lot in understanding how to design my project.

Building a brand identity & scaling an organization

Babalwa, Fellow, South Africa: Mr Kircher really made us understand that building a brand is the number one way of engaging your audience and them becoming customers over time. He also shared the importance of creating a culture and community around your audience. So that it becomes deeper than a transaction of Goods or service or money, but that it's rather a transaction of recognized and shared value. Mr Kircher, really made me understand branding in a refreshed way. An opportunity to showcase the value to serve through your business and through this you will surely scale.

Fundraising: mistakes to avoid when talking to investors

Likhona, Fellow, South Africa: Bilha provided invaluable insights into the fundraising process, stressing the importance of accurately assessing one’s value when applying for grants. Her emphasis on investors seeking teachable individuals rather than perfect businesses was enlightening. Moreover, her advice to research and target investors aligned with my own experiences, emphasizing the significance of finding investors who align with one’s vision and values. Lastly, her reminder that time is a valuable resource, especially in the absence of financial capital, underscored the importance of utilizing time effectively.

Trisia, Fellow, India: Bilha’s session was an open discussion and there were quite a few experts in our group sharing their insights. The best part was that everyone had an equal opportunity to discuss their challenges and wins. More than an information session it was an open discussion space that made all of us free to ask questions and learn from various instances within a short span.

Team building: how to make the first hires and rally your team around a common vision?

Aleyna, Fellow, Spain: A key takeaway in Lawrence's session about team building was when I asked a question about how to create a safe space as a leader for everyone, so that everyone can express themselves freely and feel comfortable. He stressed the importance of doing 'debriefing sessions'. So after every meeting discussing what went well, what could have been better without.
